Florida de-regulated its telecom industry as of July 1, 2011.
As a result of this de-regulation, the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) lost its statutory ability to regulate telecom vendor rates via tariffs, to handle complaints regarding quality of service and billings, and to certify telecom vendors.
